Once again, Silvertel sets the standard for the smallest and most highly-featured PD (PoE) solutions, announcing the launch of the IEEE 802.3at compliant Ag5700 series of PD (Powered Device) modules, to further complement their extensive range of PoE modules. This new family of products is the smallest surface mount .at module on the market offering impressive functionality and geared towards low cost, high volume assembly methods.
Aimed at developers of Ethernet equipment requiring up to POE+ power such as, IP cameras, PTZ cameras, WAPs, door entry systems, digital signage, AV broadcast and distribution networks and VoIP phones and terminals, the Ag5700 family provides a small, efficient PD solution delivering 25W of power at either 12V or 24V.
Designed and manufactured in the UK, the product is available in a dual-in-line, surface mount format using gold-plated terminal blocks to provide the module-to-host interconnect. Close coupling to the host pcb assures good thermal management between module and host pcb.
Ag5700 is a Class 4 PD, which displays the correct class pulses to an IEEE802.3at PSE. An efficient DC-DC converter generates a nominal 12V (Ag5712-LPB) or 24V (Ag5724-LPB) output, over the industrial temperature range.
Additional features include 1500V isolation (input to output), overload, short-circuit and thermal protection.
Requiring just a few low cost external components, Silvertel has designed another product which is cost-effective, easy to use, occupies a minimum of PCB real estate and provides superior performance. Ag5700 evaluation boards are also available in order to try before proceeding to development and full integration. An extensive range of application notes, backed by Silvertel’s class-leading technical support team, help make the transition from Design to Production very smooth.
The Ag5700 range supplements Silvertel’s extensive offering of Power over Ethernet products for both the PD and PSE. Silvertel also offers a comprehensive range of IEEE802.3af and IEEE802.3bt compliant modules.
